The government has launched a digital centre in Delhi to empower farmers across India with information, services and facilities using digital technology. The centre will showcase the latest innovations in agriculture and help farmers become self-reliant.
On March 8, 2024, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Arjun Munda, inaugurated the Agriculture Integrated Command and Control Center (AICCC) at the Krishi Bhawan in the national capital. The AICCC is a digital centre that will display all the digital innovations being made in the field of agriculture by the ministry on a big screen.
The minister said that the AICCC is an innovation of the ministry under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the farmers self-reliant across the country. He added that the AICCC will provide farmers with information, services and facilities using digital technology, such as soil health cards, crop insurance, e-NAM, PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Cards and more.
The AICCC will also enable real-time monitoring of various schemes and programmes of the ministry and facilitate data-driven decision making. The minister said that the AICCC will help in achieving the vision of doubling farmers’ income by 2022.
The AICCC is part of the Digital India initiative of the government, which aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. The AICCC will also contribute to the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, which seeks to make India self-reliant in various sectors.
The AICCC is expected to benefit millions of farmers across India by providing them with timely and accurate information, services and facilities using digital technology. The AICCC will also help in enhancing the productivity, profitability and sustainability of agriculture in India.
