The Congress party has launched a website and an email ID to seek people’s suggestions for its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The website, awaazbharatki.in, and the email ID, awaazbharatki@inc.in, were unveiled by P Chidambaram, the head of the Congress Manifesto Committee, on Wednesday. He said the manifesto will be a “people’s manifesto” that will reflect the voice of the public.

The website invites people to share their views on various issues such as economy, education, health, agriculture, environment, security, foreign policy and social justice. It also provides a feedback form and a link to join the Congress party. The email ID allows people to send their suggestions directly to the Manifesto Committee.

Chidambaram said the party is holding consultations with various stakeholders and experts across the country to prepare the manifesto. He said at least one consultation will be held in each state and in some states more than one. He also said that the ally parties of the INDIA bloc are welcome to attend the consultations or share their inputs with the Congress president.

The former Union minister said the party aims to gather as many suggestions as possible in the few weeks available before the polls. He said the party wants to involve the people of India in making the manifesto and appealed to them to participate in this exercise.

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said the website and the email ID are part of the party’s efforts to ensure that the manifesto is a document of the people, by the people and for the people. She said the party will also use social media platforms to reach out to more people and solicit their opinions.

Convenor of the party’s Manifesto Committee T S Singh Deo said the exercise is being carried out to ensure that the manifesto is not merely an academic document but a reflection of the aspirations and expectations of the people. He said the party will try to incorporate as many suggestions as possible in the manifesto and present a vision for a better India.
