March 19, 2024 | by indiatoday360.com

In a significant development for India’s fight against cancer, Axis Bank has pledged ₹100 crore to the National Cancer Grid (NCG) in a five-year partnership. This collaboration aims to revolutionize cancer care across the country by focusing on three key areas: enhanced access to treatment, advanced research and innovation, and widespread adoption of digital healthcare solutions in oncology.

Expanding Reach, Improving Lives

The National Cancer Grid, a network of over 300 cancer centers coordinated by the Tata Memorial Hospital, plays a crucial role in standardizing cancer care across India. Axis Bank’s contribution will directly support the NCG’s efforts to establish a National Cancer Teleconsultation Network. This network will connect patients in remote locations with qualified oncologists, ensuring timely access to expert advice and treatment plans.

Investing in the Future of Cancer Treatment

The ₹100 crore commitment will also fund the creation of a National Tumour Biobank. This biobank will store and analyze tumor samples, providing invaluable data for future cancer research. Additionally, the partnership will focus on developing oncology-specific Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) to streamline patient data management and improve treatment outcomes.

A Beacon of Hope for Millions

Axis Bank’s commitment to the National Cancer Grid Initiative is a significant step forward in India’s battle against cancer. By improving access to care, fostering innovation, and leveraging digital health solutions, this partnership has the potential to save countless lives and offer renewed hope to millions of cancer patients across the country.
