Beyond the Inauguration: How Sangh Parivar Intends to Maintain the Momentum of the Ram Temple

January 12, 2024 | by indiatoday360.com

The Grand Plan

The Sangh Parivar has a grand plan to keep the fervor of the Ram Temple alive even after its inauguration. The organization is set to organize a guided tour of the Ayodhya Temple for over 1 lakh people from across the country. This is part of its bid to ensure that the Temple fervor does not die down after the grand Ram Lalla consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22.

The Pilgrims

The Sangh Parivar is going all out to see that more than one lakh people from 28 states and eight Union Territories (UTs) board 44 special trains to reach Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh between January 27 and February 22 to visit the Ram Temple. These pilgrims would include those who have contributed to the construction of the Temple in various ways over the years.

The Gratitude

These tours would not only keep the “Ram Temple light burning in the national consciousness” after the January 22 ceremony, but would also be an “expression of gratitude” towards those who contributed in their own ways to the building of the Temple.

The Logistics

For this, the VHP has already fanned out its workers across the country who have been assigned the responsibility to identify such invitees and to arrange their travels to Ayodhya. The entire country has been divided into 45 zones and each zone has a quota of around 1,500 to 2,500 pilgrims who will be traveling.

The Assistance

To ensure that the people from non-Hindi speaking states do not feel any inconvenience in navigating through the pilgrimage town, the Sangh Parivar has planned to rope in its activists from such states for their assistance.

The Political Narrative

The Sangh Parivar, which includes the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other Sangh affiliates, is planning to celebrate the Ram Temple inauguration across cities. There will be week-long programs to commemorate the Ram Temple opening ceremony. This is seen as a part of reshaping the political and social narrative of Bharat.
