Gensol Engineering, a frontrunner in India’s solar power industry, has cemented its position as a major force with its recent acquisition of a monumental turnkey EPC order valued at Rs 520 crore. This marks a significant achievement for the company, not only in terms of scale but also solidifying their expertise in developing large-grid solar projects.
The project entails constructing a sprawling 100 MWac (megawatts alternating current) solar power plant, capable of generating up to 135 MWp (megawatts peak). This translates to enough clean energy to power approximately 75,000 homes in Maharashtra. The project will sprawl across a massive 500 acres of land, highlighting the significant undertaking involved.
This win significantly bolsters Gensol’s reputation and aligns perfectly with the progressive policies outlined by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in April 2022. The project is poised to be a game-changer for Maharashtra’s energy landscape, contributing substantially to the state’s clean energy goals and propelling India’s national renewable energy ambitions.
Gensol Takes the Lead in Project Execution
Gensol Engineering will spearhead the entire project lifecycle, demonstrating their comprehensive capabilities. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range, beginning with securing the requisite clearances and navigating the crucial process of land acquisition for such a large-scale project (500 acres). Subsequently, they will meticulously handle the design, engineering, procurement of materials, and logistical planning to ensure smooth project execution. Furthermore, Gensol will oversee the plant’s commissioning and provide three years of operational management, including maintenance of the switchyard and the expansive transmission infrastructure.
Delivering Clean Energy Solutions on Time
Gensol Engineering, with its proven track record in executing large-scale solar power projects efficiently, is confident in completing this mammoth undertaking within a stipulated timeframe of 15 months. This impressive win underscores Gensol’s unwavering commitment to India’s clean energy transition. By leveraging their expertise in the EPC segment, Gensol Engineering is not only setting a benchmark for timely project delivery but also emerging as a frontrunner in shaping a sustainable future for India’s energy sector.
