PM Unveils Six Postage Stamps in Honor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released six commemorative postage stamps dedicated to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple on Thursday, 18 January 2024. The stamps feature various aspects of the temple and the life of Lord Ram, such as the sun, the river Sarayu, Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, Jatayu, Kevatraj and Ma Shabri. The stamps also have the popular verse “Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari” written on them.

The Prime Minister also released an album of stamps related to Lord Ram that were issued earlier by different countries of the world, such as the US, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, Cambodia and others. He said that these stamps reflect the global admiration and reverence for Lord Ram and his teachings.

The Prime Minister congratulated all the devotees of Lord Ram in India and abroad on this occasion. He said that these stamps are not just pieces of paper, but miniature forms of history and culture. He said that these stamps will help the young generation learn about Lord Ram and his values. He said that Lord Ram’s teachings transcend the boundaries of time, society and caste and are relevant for every individual.

The Prime Minister also praised the saints and the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for their guidance and support in designing the stamps. He said that the stamps are a tribute to the heritage of Ayodhya and the devotion of millions of people who have waited for centuries for the construction of the temple.

The Prime Minister said that the story of Ramayana will remain alive among the people as long as there are mountains and rivers on earth. He said that Ramayana teaches us about love, sacrifice, unity and courage even in the most difficult times. He said that Ramayana connects the whole humanity and inspires us to live in harmony with nature.

The Prime Minister also expressed his happiness over the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the idol of Lord Ram in the temple on 22 January 2024. He said that this will be a historic moment for the nation and a fulfilment of a long-cherished dream.
