A New Campus for the Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy
Union Ayush Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal will lay the foundation stone of the permanent campus of the Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy and Integrated Ayush Wellness Centre at Azara, Guwahati on 12th January 2024. A total amount of Rs. 53.89 cr has been sanctioned for this project .
The new campus will provide a state-of-the-art facility for conducting scientific research in the field of homoeopathy and promoting its integration with other Ayush systems. The campus will also offer quality health care services to the people of the region through homoeopathy and other Ayush modalities.
A Brief History of the Institute
The Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy was established as a Clinical Research Unit of Homeopathy in 1984 in a rented building at Odalbakra, Guwahati. Presently it is situated at Bhetapara, Guwahati in an old building of Central Ayurveda Research Institute .
The Institute has been catering to the health needs of the surrounding population with ever-increasing OPD every year along with special OPDs like mother & child OPD, and LSD clinic. Peripheral OPDs & awareness camps are also organized by the Institute from time to time .
The Institute has been providing laboratory services at very nominal rates and successfully completed clinical trials on various diseases such as skin disorders, cholera/gastroenteritis, chronic sinusitis & bronchitis, influenza like illness, uterine fibroid, otitis media, hypertension, vitiligo, psoriasis, migraine etc .
Besides this, the institute has been actively involved in public health projects like Swasthya rakshan program, SC Camps, Homoeopathy for Healthy child. The Institute has also collaborated with prestigious organizations like NIPER, Guwahati, All India institute for Ayurveda for Pharmacovigilance of ASU & H drugs & state homoeopathic medical college for research activities .
A Vision for the Future
The new campus of the Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy will be a landmark in the development of homoeopathy research and education in India. It will provide a conducive environment for conducting high-quality research on various aspects of homoeopathy such as drug standardization, clinical verification, drug proving, clinical research, basic research, public health research etc.
The campus will also have an integrated Ayush wellness centre that will offer holistic and preventive health care services to the people through various Ayush systems such as yoga, naturopathy, ayurveda, unani, siddha etc. The centre will also have facilities for yoga training and certification.
The campus will also have a library, auditorium, conference hall, guest house, hostel, canteen and other amenities for the staff and visitors.
The new campus of the Regional Research Institute for Homoeopathy will be a boon for the people of Assam and the North-East region who will benefit from the improved access to quality homoeopathy and other Ayush services. It will also contribute to the promotion and propagation of homoeopathy and other Ayush systems across India and abroad.
