Launched on National Pet Day (April 11th, 2024), this program leverages Swiggy’s extensive network of delivery partners to create a city-wide search force for missing pets.

Tech Meets Tail Wags: Reporting Made Easy

Gone are the days of frantic flyer posters plastered on lampposts. Distraught pet owners can now report missing furry (or feathery) friends directly through the Swiggy app. The app provides a user-friendly platform to upload detailed descriptions, including breed, markings, and any distinguishing features. Owners can also attach clear pictures, creating a comprehensive profile for Swiggy’s Pawlice to identify, significantly increasing the chances of a successful reunion.

Delivery Partners with a Purpose

Swiggy boasts over 3.5 lakh delivery partners who crisscross Indian cities on a daily basis, delivering food and essentials. Pawlice transforms these partners into an extra set of eyes patrolling neighborhoods for lost pets. When a partner spots a missing animal, they are instructed to report the sighting to a dedicated Swiggy team, providing crucial location information. Importantly, for safety reasons, partners are advised not to attempt to retrieve the pets themselves.

Speed is Key to Happy Endings

Upon receiving a sighting report, the Swiggy team acts swiftly to connect with the pet parent. This immediate response allows owners to follow up on leads quickly, potentially leading to a tearful (but joyous) reunion.
