Vande Bharat Trains: Ramkrishna Forgings’ ₹270 Crore Deal

Ramkrishna Forgings Limited (RKFL), a leading manufacturer of rolled, forged, and machined products, has secured a monumental ₹270 crore order for the prestigious Vande Bharat train project. This significant win marks a major step forward for RKFL, solidifying their position as a key player in India’s burgeoning high-speed rail sector.

Bogie Frames for Sleeper Coaches

The contract specifically targets the development and validation of bogie frames, the crucial undercarriage framework that acts as the very foundation of a train. These vital components will be supplied to a consortium led by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Titagarh Wagon Industry Limited (TRSL) for the much-anticipated sleeper version of the Vande Bharat trains.

Large-Scale Production for Nationwide Impact

The order entails a substantial volume, encompassing bogie frames for 32 Vande Bharat train sets, each boasting 16 coaches. This translates to a total of 1,024 bogie frames that RKFL will manufacture, playing a pivotal role in the nationwide rollout of these advanced trains. This large-scale production run not only strengthens RKFL’s order book but also signifies their ability to handle high-volume projects efficiently.
